2. COMPOSITION/INFORMATION
ON INGREDIENTS
Characterisation:
Seaweed extract with added nitrogen and potash.Total N = 12%; as
nitrate and ammonium N; potash (K2O) = 7%
Residual formaldehyde preservative - less than 0.2%.
3. HAZARDS
IDENTIFICATION
Skin: May produce
an allergic reaction (particularly with repeated or prolonged exposure)
with people already with a sensitised skin.
Eyes: Concentrate irritating to the eyes.
Inhalation: Not an inhalation hazard under normal conditions of
use.
Ingestion: Low oral toxicity.
4. FIRST
AID MEASURES
Skin: Promptly
wash areas in contact with concentrate; if any irritation is prolonged
seek medical attention.
Eyes: In case of contact with the eyes, rinse (flush) immediately
with plenty of water and continue for at least 15 minutes; if irritation
continues or if in doubt seek medical advice.
Ingestion: If ingested, do not make casualty vomit; wash out mouth
with water, give large quantities of water to drink immediately;
if symptoms persist seek medical attention, particularly if more
than small quantities swallowed.
5. FIRE
FIGHTING MEASURES
Not flammable.
In event of fire caused by another cause, containers could melt
releasing preparation solutionwhich could release low levels of
formaldehyde vapours; fire fighters ought be informed, but it is
not expected to generate a significant hazard.
6. ACCIDENTAL
RELEASE MEASURES
Prevent entry
into drains and watercourses (see 12)
Following spillage
inside (shed/store), open doors and windows to give ventilation.
Any spillage should be cleaned up promptly, swept up and placed
in a clean labelled open container for safe disposal. Do not allow
to mix with sawdust/straw and other combustible or organic substances.
Depending on the degree and nature of contamination, dispose of
by use as a turf nutrient or to an authorised waste facility.
7. HANDLING
AND STORAGE
Do not drink;
Keep locked up and out of the reach of children;
Avoid contact with the skin;
Use concentrate only in well-ventilated areas;
Avoid contact with the eyes;
Avoid misting during application;
Follow manufacturers guidance in dilution/application rates.

STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Stable under
ambient conditions
Non-combustible
Plastic containers may be destroyed by fire, combusting to release
toxic fumes.
If fire evaporates water leaving solid residue, it may decompose
releasing ammonia.
11.
TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
The preparation
is not classified as hazardous as stated above, contains a low level
of formaldehyde preservative, below concentrations considered hazardous
under CHIP 2/3 regulations;
May have allergic reactions on pre-sensitised skin.
12 ECOLOGICAL
INFORMATION
No harmful effects
if used as recommended
Low toxicity to aquatic life
No potential for bioaccumulation
Readily biodegradable in soil and water
Contains plant growth promoter and relatively high plant nutrient
( particularly nitrogen) therefore may promote plant growth in watercourses.
Heavy spillage may cause adverse environmental impact such as eutrophication
in confined waters or nitrate contamination
Prevent entry to the drains
If spillage occurs do not contaminate surface waters or ditches
Inform the appropriate authority in the event of accidental watercourse
contamination>
